Giorgos Aggelopoulos
Giorgos (Danos) Aggelopoulos is a Greek water-ski instructor, actor, entrepreneur and former professional soccer player.
Born on the 8th of January 1982, Giorgos lives in Skiathos with his family: his mother Ourania and his younger brother Harris. He lost his father, Panagiotis, when he was fourteen years of age. He adores his two nephews, Elena and Panagiotis.
From a very young age, he was involved in sports and specifically in soccer, also at a professional level in matches of the A ', B' and C' National Division. At the end of his soccer career, in May 2010, he began focusing on water sports.
In his free time he practices Kickboxing and Tae Kwon Do and is a fan of fishing.
In February 2017, he became very popular with his participation in SKAI's (Greek TV channel) survival game, Survivor, where he was introduced as a “water-ski instructor”. Throughout the game season, the general public strongly identified with him, elected him as the winner of the 2017 “Survivor” contest.
He participated in the Alpha TV series, “The Tattoo”, and made other TV appearances as a guest judge in “Greece’s Got Talent” and guest star in “To Soi Sou”. In January 2020 he made his first film appearance with his participation in ‘’Halva 5-0’’, a film by Markos Seferlis.
In May 2018, he became a Charity Ambassador to the non-governmental organization "ELPIDA", based in Nicosia, raising awareness for children with cancer and leukemia. During the same year he was an official guest at the charity event “Swim with the Underwater Demolition Teams (UDT), for our little heroes”, an initiative by Loukas Fourlas. The event continues to take place annually, with Aggelopoulos being the Ambassador of the institution while swimming with the UDT together with Loukas Fourlas.
In February 2019, he wrote and published his first book “Danos: A Narrative to Avgi Savvidou” by Ekdotiki Athinon.
In January 2020, he founded the “Guardian Angel” Association along with Tassos Dougas and Rania Kostakis, with the mission to protect abused and neglected children in Greece.
